Obituary of Kenny Austin Sr.
Kenny Louis Austin Sr. was born to Zerada Wilson on May 23, 1961, in Los An-geles County, California. On June 11, 1982, he married his high school sweetheart, Toni Renee Jackson. From this union two sons were born: Kenny Austin Jr. and Jerold Austin.
Kenny was a simple, hard working man. Over the course of his life, he worked as a maintenance man at Alexandria Daily Town Talk, Tobacco Plus as a stocker, and a custodian at First United Methodist Church. Close friends knew he was a quiet man who took pride in his work, was well liked, and was trusted by all. Kenny was known as being very neat and clean. Those who knew him as “Louis” knew he loved to dress to impress. He never complained or wanted anyone to make a big fuss over him. Even in his final days, when asked how he was doing, his response was always, “I’m cool!”
He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons: Kenny Austin Jr. (Samantha) and Jerold Austin (Contessa); four grandchildren: Jordon Austin, Brice Austin, Kennedi Austin, and Koltin Sanders; four bonus grandchildren: Michelle and Donald Brister Jr., Keomi and Jamil Sanders; two brothers: George Austin
(Patricia) and Tillman Austin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kenny also leaves other loving members of the First United Methodists Church located in Alexandria, Louisiana..
He was preceded in death by his mother: Zerada Wilson and his sisters: Linda Aaron and Carolyn Austin.
