Obituary of Dexter Brynel King
Dexter Brynel King was the son of late Rev. Wilson J. King and late Mary Louise Green King born on April 13, 1957 in Alexandria, LA. He was the third oldest of five children born to this union. Preceding him in death are: brothers Don King, Nathan King, and Harry King. Dexter departed this life at 8:20 PM on Monday, December 3, 2018 at his residence.
In obedience to the World of God, Dexter accepted Christ at an early age, pledging his membership with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Alexandria, LA under the Pastorship of Rev. J.S. Lawson, where he served as a member of the Jr. choir.
Dexter graduated from Peabody High School in Alexandria, LA. Thereafter, worked for Pilgrim Manor Nursery Home before accepting an ER Tech position at Rapides General Hospital. He later made the decision to attend classes to become an EMT for Cenla Ambulance Service; in time he became a paramedic. He dedicated over 35 years with Cenla Ambulance Service/Acadian Ambulance.
Dexter was a heartwarming, kindhearted, generous, and a compassionate person. He is loved by many and will be missed even more. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife; Kathy King, daughter; Meli’sa King (Micheal); sister, Sharon King; stepdaughter; Evette Perry, stepsons; Rahmaan, Derrick, Errick; his adorable grandbaby L’mayah Denise; and a host of aunts, nieces, cousins, and friends.
