Martha’s Journey
Martha White, 83, of Colfax, Louisiana, departed this life on Saturday, November 18, 2018. Being that the Lord has taken her sweet soul home to everlasting life; we rest in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding that she chose the path of righteousness before God. Her faith and belief in God was unshakable. Her prayer life was solid.
Sis. Martha White was born on February 8, 1935 to the late Willis White, Sr. and Mary Ruben White. She was the last of eight children born to this union. Sis. Martha confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Howard Ellis where she became a member of Prospect Baptist Church in Colfax, LA. Sis. Martha relocated to Chicago, Illinois in the early 1960s where she worked and established herself as a seamstress.
Sis. Martha loved the Lord her God and lived a life proclaiming the truth of God to others where she encouraged them to trust in God and stay in prayer, because she believed in the power of prayer. Her motto was “early in the morning is a good time to pray.”
Sis. Martha leaves to cherish her life, her daughter, Lutisha S. Williams of Baltimore, MD; her three grandchildren, Ashera, Sedgrick and Jonathan; one great-grandchild, Nailah Rose (Ashera) all of Baltimore.
She leaves one sister, Verna Evans of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Robert Lewis Chambers and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Proceeded in death Sis. Martha White was her son, Donald Ray Archies; two sisters, Sis. Bernice Hagan and Sis. Rena Tademy; five brothers, Bro. Willis White, Jr., Bro. Arthur White, Sr., Bro. Toby White, Sr.,
Bro. Tommie White, Sr., and Bro. Thornton White.
