Obituary of Don Gerard Harbor

 Mr. Don Gerard Harbor Sr. was born on January 29, 1965 to the late Ola Mae Fisher Harbor Newton and Freddie Lee Harbor. Ola later married Clifton Newton Sr. whom assisted into molding him into the outstanding man he was. At an early age Don accepted Christ & was baptized at his small hometown church. Don graduated from Job Corps where he won the state basketball championship title (that he bragged about forever)  & went on to join the military in his late teens . Since then Mr. Don has been a man of many skills & roles. Although being a Chef was his most famous role he was also a mechanic, a roofer, a plumber, a painter, a construction foreman , a carpenter, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew , cousin, uncle & friend he was an all around handy man that could get any job done with no hesitation. Anything you need done, Don was the man with the plan. In addition he was known as “Mr. Life Of The Party” , it wasn't a party until Don Harbor showed up with his signature dance moves. Don was truly one of a kind.

 

Mr. Harbor quietly departed this life on Saturday September 22, 2018 surrounded by a few close family members at his daughters home. He was proceeded in death by both his parents Ola Mae Fisher Harbor Newton and Freddie Lee Harbor. His brother Anthony “Amp” Harbor, Step-Father Clifton Newton, his Grandmother Julia B. Fisher, his Grand-Father Marion Fisher Sr. and Grandson Phillip Tyrone Aught Jr.

 

He leaves to cherish his beautiful & loving memories seven children Tykitta D. Griffith, Donteaka T. Gordon, Gabrielle Armstrong, Terrance Owens , De'Marcus V. Griffith, Don Harbor Jr. & Guy Harbor. Five siblings Sheila Harbor Jackson, Genell Harbor, Sherriah Harbor, Tammy Savage & Michael Harbor. Eight grandchildren Aniya Haddix, Amya Aught, Journee Griffith, Morgan Griffith, Brooklyn Griffith, Aailey Fields, Katelyn Fields & De'Marcus Griffith Jr. Two close uncles & auntie Marion Fisher Jr. , Jerry Fisher & Gloria Jean Harbor. Nine Step brothers & Sisters Rachel, Marsha, Newlyn, Jane, Alton, Wendell, Demetrius Clifton Jr. & Reginald Newton . One Brother in Law Wilks “Junior” Jackson , One son in law Alvin T. Gordon , One God- Sister Unique Jackson (Issac) , Three close cousins Robert Hood the 3rd (Pooh Hood) , Donovan Fisher and Nakia Hood (His country cousin). Longtime friends Catherine Hargrove & Ray Sewell.  A host of nieces , nephews, aunts, uncles , cousins, friends & co-workers (Jena Choctaw Pines) whom he shared a close knit bond with them all especially his Jonesville/Wildsville family. Don played a major part in all of his family & friends life so he will truly be missed. He was loved by everyone he crossed paths with . Don G. Harbor will live on through us all forever.
