Obituary

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Evoin Jordan was born to the late Clifton Martin and Vera Martin on May 2, 1945 in Lecompte, LA.

Evoin was baptized by the late Rev. W.L. Jackson at Union Baptist Church.  Evoin attended Union Baptist Church for years. She was part of the choir, mission, and she was a devoted member of the deaconess board until her health started to fail her.  She was employed by the Rapides Parish School Board for 18 years. She loved working at Brame Middle School. She was known as Grandma to the children at Brame Middle School. She became very close to Ms. Bell and Mr. Falls.  She enjoyed being around people.

Evoin Jordan was united in marriage to Manuel (Coot) Jordan and to this union three children were born.

Evoin was preceded in death by her parents Clifton and Vera Martin, husband Manuel (Coot) Jordan, daughter Shelander Campbell, two grandchildren, four sisters, and two brothers.

Evoin leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, LaKeitha Lockhart (David Lockhart) of Lecompte, LA, Flennetta Jordan of Montgomery, AL, and April Allen of Morganza, LA; five grandchildren, Shaquille Jordan, Keldrick Weems, Jaevon Weems, Traeshaun Allen and Kydris Jordan; one sister, four brothers, three God children, and two son-in-laws.  She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
