Josephine Roberts, 71

Obituary of Josephine Roberts, 71

Ms. Josephine Roberts transitioned to her heavenly home on September 29, 2020. Josephine Roberts was born February 2, 1949 to Jeff and Martha Carpenter. She was baptized at an early age at New St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to music, watching YouTube videos…without headphones, and family time. Ms. Jo, as she was affectionally called, was a lover of people. She was a care giver, whether at work or home, to her biological kids or the many she loved as her own. More than anything else, she loved being a grandmother. Mema’s “babies” were the light of her life. On September 29, 2020, she departed this earthly home and entered eternal peace. Jo was proceeded in death by her son, William Mitchell; her parents, Jeff Sr. and Martha; step-mother Ruthie Carpenter; her brother, Otis B. Carpenter; her sister, Rosephine Gore; and a special aunt, Cinderella Shepherd. She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Floyd Mitchell Jr., Levi C. Mitchell, Adlena Roberts, and Jo’Anna Roberts; eight grandchildren, Dexteria King, Sierra Stewart, Joseph Johnson, Dewayne Austin, Jamar Mitchell, Reshonda Mitchell, Cedric Mitchell and Justin Mitchell; three siblings, Jeff B. Carpenter, Arthur Carpenter and Annie (Regonald Sr.) Franklin; one nephew, Regonald Franklin Jr.; two nieces, Sharlene Gore and Ania Franklin; one God-daughter, Ananda Flanagan; a special cousin, Edward Shepherd and a host of other relatives and friends. Please keep the Roberts family in prayer. ~Miller and Hill The Funeral Directors~
