Obituary of Gloria Faye Curry, 72

Mrs. Gloria Faye Goff Curry, 72 of Alexandria, Louisiana gently passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Regency House Facility. Gloria Faye Curry was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on March 15, 1948 to the union of the late Willie and Eliza Goff. Gloria was educated in the Rapides Parish School System and graduated from Peabody Magnet High School in 1966. She continued her education at Grambling State University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. While at Grambling she pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Later she attended Northwestern State University and received her Masters Degree in Education. She taught 33 years in Rapides Parish Schools before she retired in 2004. Gloria was baptized at Greater Saint Lawrence Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She later united with Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served in the bookstore and the nursery. Gloria met and fell in love with the late Nathaniel Curry Jr. They joyously married July 7, 1973. They were blessed with one son, Nathaniel “Tiger” Curry, III. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Curry Jr., her parents Willie & Eliza Goff, sister, Gussie B. Prince and brother, Bruce Goff. She leaves behind to cherish her life: her son, Nathaniel Curry III, of Alexandria, LA., two sisters, Elaine Veal of Alexandria, LA and Jacqueline Bibbs of Fort Worth, TX., brother Willie Goff, Jr. (Pat) of Bossier City, LA., sister in law, Mary Goff of Alexandria, LA., brother in law, Bruce Curry (Beatriz) of Amarillo, TX, 3 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
