Obituary of Anthony Stanfield
“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only but unto them also that love his appearing.
Anthony “Dusty” Stanfield was born August 10, 1961 to the James Stanfield II and Willie Edna Martin of Alexandria, LA.
Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. C.D. Day at Union Missionary Baptist Church that was later renamed Union Historical Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. He attended Peabody High School and late was employed in the field of construction until his health failed him.
Anthony later met and married Umeki H. Stanfield which lasted for a few years but remained life friends until his passing. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Stanfield III and sister, Helen Martin.
He leaves to cherish his memories (1) son, Kenneth Ernest of Hammond, LA, (1) daughter, Brenda K. Fulton of Alexandria, LA, (3) step-children, Nakia, Shammineeka, Markiz Hood all of Alexandria, LA. (5) brothers, Lee Andrews Stanfield of Houston, TX, Alvin Martin of Alexandria, LA, Charles Martin (Karen) of Milwaukee, WI, Irvin Stanfield of Pennsylvania and Charles Crawford of Houma, LA. (4) sister, Ruby Washington, Brenda S. West (James) of Alexandria, LA, Marilyn Stanfield of Lake Charles, LA and Debra Martin of New York. (4) aunts, (1) uncle, 9 grandchildren, his friend for life Umeki H. Stanfield and his very best friend Robert Earl Price, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
