Obituary of Ronald Hartford, 49

Ronald Hartford, 49, of Lettsworth, Louisiana passed on Friday, July 17, 2020 at CHRISTUS ST. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Obituary Every once in a while the Lord seems to bless the world with a spirit that touches everyone it encounters and leaves a mark that few will forget. On July 6, 1971, Marion Ann Hartford and Carter Lee Dixon gave birth to just such a soul when they welcomed their son Ronald Dale Hartford into this world. With an open heart, he accepted Christ into his life at an early age; being baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Odenburg, LA by Reverend John Washington. Ronald, affectionately called Ron D. by those who knew him, fell in love with music at the age of 16. That love inspired a career that would span over 33 years as a DJ that was sought out by many from near and far. He loved making people happy through music and was always quick to turn something on and lift the spirits of those around him. On August 31, 2019 Ronald’s rhythm met its harmony when he was joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Felicia Hartford. In this union he gained three sons; Lawrence Thomas, Sr., Latrell Thomas Jones, and Jaquez Jones. Ronald leaves to cherish his gentle grooves and never ending melody a loving and devoted wife Mrs. Felicia Hartford and their three sons. His memory will forever be remembered by his grandson Lawrence Thomas, Jr.; two special nephews, Develin Hartford and Titan Hartford; one special niece London Haynes; his father Carter Lee Dixon, Sr. (Pearl) of Houston, TX; four sisters, Latisha Hartford of New Orleans, LA., Tamma Jolivet (Joseph), Syretta Noel (Bryant) and Cara Dixon (Victor) all of Houston, TX., two brothers , Carter Lee Dixon, Jr. (Tonnita) and James Dixon of Houston, TX; and one goddaughter, Jamiah Kyle of Marksville, LA. Ronald also leaves to cherish his memories six additional nieces; six additional nephews; one great nephew; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends that he held near and dear. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Hartford; grandmothers, Harriett Hartford and Lula Dixon; grandfathers Eddie Hartford, Sr. and Bobby Dixon, Sr.; uncles Alton Hartford, Eddie Hartford, Jr., Steve Dixon, West Dixon and Rufus Dixon; aunt Catherine Anderson; nephew Bryant Noel Jr.; and cousins Leslie Hebert, Ma’Keisha Hartford, Dianna Franklin, and Carlowsuha Hartford. Although the music has gone quiet, the mark Ronald “Ron D” Hartford made on this world will never be forgotten. His warm spirit and giving soul touched the lives of many and through them his rhythms will play on. Please keep the Hartford family in prayer. ~Miller & Hill "The Funeral Directors"
