Obituary of Alce "LC" Bobby Joshua, 77
"For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity."
Alce Bobby Joshua was born October 24, 1942 to the union of Felton Joshua, Sr. and Martha Joseph Joshua. He was called from labor to rest on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Alce accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained an active member until his health declined.
He attended schools in Rapides Parish, graduating in 1962 from Peabody High School.
Alce was drafted into the United States Army, serving until he was honorably discharged.
He was employed by the Rapides Parish School System for 28 years as school bus driver and worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years until retirement.
On August 20, 1966 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley Griffin.
Alce was preceded in death by his parents, Felton Joshua, Sr., Martha Jones Joshua, and one brother Bervin Joshua.
Celebrating and cherishing in his memories is his devoted wife of 54 years Shirley Griffin Joshua; daughter, Camie Joshua; grandson, Joshua Baptiste of Coppell TX; 2 brothers, Felton Joshua, Jr. (Barbara), Daniel Joshua (Leola) of Alexandria, LA; 5 sisters Mary Jane Barnes, June Rax (Kenneth), Margie Boyd, all of Alexandria, Evelyn Sarpy (James) of Beverly Hills, MI and Kay Joshua (Clarence Jefferson) of Houston TX., numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
