Bro. Herman Louis Norris, Sr. was born on September 5, 1927 in Rapides Station to the union of the late Joe Norris and Jeanette Sullivante.  Bro. Norris peacefully transitioned this life to be with the Lord on July 26, 2018 with his family by his side.

Bro. Norris was a member of the Tabernacle Church Family for 69 years, where he served as Deacon under its present Pastor, Rev. Wayne H. Powell.

On March 29, 1948, Bro. Norris was married to the late Gussie Norris, to this union thewlve children were born.  Bro. Norris was a devoted Husband for sixty-five years, a loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

Bro. Norris is preceded in death by his wife, Gussie Norris; his parents, Joe Norris and Jeanette Sullivante; and eight siblings, five brothers and three sisters; five children, Barbara Wells, Elouise Harris, Velma Goff, and Mary Alice Norris and Herman (Sonny) Norris, II.

Bro. Norris leaves to cherish seven children, Helen Hamilton, Linda Williams (Patrick), David Norris, Kenneth Morris (Debra), Brenda Blackwell (Joseph) and Tracy Cousin (Max), all of Alexandria, LA., Earline Goff (Richard) of Lake Charles, LA.; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, EUnice Woods of Alexandria, LA  and a host of relatives and friends along with his church family.
