Obituary of Rogdrick Walker, 53

Rogdrick Walker, 53 of Alexandria, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at The Summit Nursing Facility. A service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, 2200 Third Street, Alexandria, LA 71302. A non-lingering, walking visitation and public viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Service will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:” II Timothy 4:7-8a Rogdrick was born February 15, 1967 to the late Ozell Walker, Jr. and Doris McQuain Walker. Rogdrick departed his life on June 23, 2020 after one week in Summit Nursing Home Rehab Facility. He was baptized at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age. Rodgrick continued to serve under the leadership of the late and Great Rev. S. Y. Brady. Rodgrick attended Bolton and Peabody High Schools. He had a career in finance and car sales where he excelled at both. Rogdrick loved his family and never met a stranger. He loved all sports especially the New Orleans Saints. Rogdrick was a loving father, son, uncle, brother, nephew, cousin and friends to many. He had two children with ex wife Pamela Walker whom he loved dearly. He truly cherished family and always made everyone around him feel welcome, loved, and special. Rogdrick was preceded in death by his father, Ozell Walker, Jr, brother, Taurus Walker, paternal grandmother, Elbert Faye Jackson, maternal grandmother, Amelia Green McQuain, and paternal grandfather, Ozell Walker Sr. Rogdrick leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted mother, Doris McQuain Walker whom he adored, a loving ex-wife, Pamela Walker. His children who were the loves of his life, Rogdrick “Tony” Basco Walker and Courtney “Baby Cakes” Walker both of Alexandria, La. His sisters Amelia Franklin (Gerard) and Aletha Walker both of Alexandria, La. Grandmother, Bertha Walker of Frisco, Texas along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved and cared for dearly.
