The family of Mr. Willie Wilson Davis has requested that all, with the exception of the family and close friends who plan to pay their respects please do so during the walking visitation hour of 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Due to COVID-19 seating availability will be limited to close family and friends. Mask will be required during public viewing/visitation as well as the service. II Timothy 4:7 Willie Wilson “Sonny” Davis was born to the late Clarence C. Davis, Sr. and Lucille C. Metoyer on November 23, 1941 in Pineville, Louisiana. Willie was brought up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at St. James Catholic Church. Later he transferred his membership to St. Juliana Catholic Church. Willie was a 1959 graduate of St. James Catholic High School. He received his B.S. from Grambling State University, a Masters from the University of Oregon, and a Plus 30 from Northwestern State University. He also attended Kent State University and Dillard University. He devoted thirty-seven years to the Rapides Parish School System as a Mathematics teacher. “Sonny” as he was lovingly known to his family and friends, was active in church. He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Council #268, where he served as the first Grand Knight elected. He was a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, where he served in many different positions. He was an avid bowler with the Alpine and Commercial Bowling League and a member of the Cenla Bowling Association. Willie was joined in holy matrimony to Vivian Brown on November 12, 1966 at St. James Catholic Church. To this union two daughters were born, Deborah Teresa Davis and Diane Marie Davis. Willie was blessed with five (5) grandchildren and six (6) great-grandchildren. Willie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clarence C. Davis, Jr. Willie was called to his heavenly home on June 23, 2020. He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Vivian Davis; two daughters: Deborah T. Davis of Alexandria and Diane M. Woods (Tony) of Olive Branch, MS; one “adopted” son, Rodney Antoine (Sabrina) of Pineville, LA; Five grandchildren: Johnathan Davis of Alexandria, Jarome Davis (Valeece) of Sulphur, LA, Jasmine Davis (Reggie) of McKinney, TX, Destinee Woods and Cameron Woods, both of Olive Branch, MS. Six great-grands: Jordyn, Marco, Jaycee, Jaymari, Jillian, and Cayden. Two brothers: Robert “Bobby” Davis of National Harbor, MD and Darryl Davis (Sylvia) of Alexandria; Two sisters, Roxane Barnes (Elmer III) of Alexandria and Iris Duffy (Johnny) of Pineville; Two godsons: Gerald “Jay” Davis of Alexandria and Devin Brown of Pineville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends, who were all blessed to know him.
