Mildred Holt, 75

Obituary of Mildred Mary Holt, 75

Bible Verse: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest ~ Matthew 11: 28 KJV Mildred Mary Holt was born in Boyce, Louisiana on November 12, 1944 to the union of the late Emeal Holt and Erna Pickens Holt. Mildred peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Matthews Memorial Health Center. She was the fourth of nine children. Mildred was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Green Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend L. M. Majors. Mildred attended Peabody High School. Mildred was married to Charles Allen Boss, Sr. and to that union she had three sons and one daughter who preceded her in death. Mildred was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her sons and embraced every moment with them; even BOBO!. Her adopted son/grandson Gregory Harrell was the light of her world. Mildred was feisty and had a vivacious personality. She was authentic, genuine, and yet, a lion at heart. World-renowned for her lack of patience and not holding back on her opinion(s) no matter who the person was. She sugar coated NOTHING and would tell you off with her favorite four letter words. Mildred enjoyed music, having fun, dressing in her favorite fashions, and wearing her Mardi Gras beads. There was never a dull moment when Mildred was around. We are certain each of you hold a dear story of Mildred that you can share. We ask that you hold on to those memories and the fun times you had with her. Preceding Mildred in death were her parents—mother, Erna Pickens Holt and father, Emeal Holt and brother, Emeal Holt Jr. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory: three sons—Charles A. Boss, Terry W. Boss, and Gregory Boss; seven sisters—Sarah Marbs, Maggie Holt, Myrtlean Terrell, Lucy Baker (Jerry), Charlie Jean Richards, Martha Jackson, and Vera Holt; one loving daughter-in-law—Brionne C. Boss; seven grandchildren—Michael T. Boss, Jazmine J. Boss, Gregory Harrell, Janice Boss, Teona Stafford, Darmarion Stafford, and Taylor Stafford; four great grandchildren , in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Special acknowledgment to a very special niece, Kelly Collins, for always being available at any time to assist in the care of Mildred. ~Miller and Hill The Funeral Directors~
