Obituary of Pearley Compton Bazile, 88

“Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the days of my Life, and I shall dwell in the House of the Lord Forever” Psalm 23:6 Pearley Compton Bazile was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a cousin and a friend to many. She was born on March 4, 1932, in Melville, LA, to Aaron, Sr, and Vernada “Big Mama” Compton. On Thursday, May 7, 2020, at midnight God came to Pearley’s bedside and plucked out His beautiful flower and took her to live with Him eternally. The love and compassion she bestowed on others is an example of how we should all want to treat each other. She was a role model, always sharing wisdom and insight. She was a true follower in Christ and lived the “Golden Rule” treating others how he wanted to be treated. She attended school in Evergreen, LA. Anyone that encountered her, had their lives touched in a positive way. She lived a great life; we rejoice in the Lord and thank Him for allowing us to be impacted by her love and presence. We must also remember that our supreme ruler in Heaven has the final sovereignty for life here on earth, and when He called Pearley to come home she smiled her way into Heaven’s door. Pearley was preceded in death by her father and mother, Aaron Sr, and Vernada Compton; her daughter, Doris Nell Barfield; 2 sons Larry and Henry Bazile; a great grandchild DeMareye’a Bazile; 6 sisters Joanna Frost, Lillian Atkins, Mildred Claiborne, Eula Claiborne, Betsy Blackman, Norma Lawson; and 2 brothers Aaron Jr and Clifton Compton. She also leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters Gaythell Smith, Vernada Wiley and Pearl Bazile, two sons: Verna Bazile, & Jerriel (Kelia) Bazile; one sister Helen Wilson; several grandkids, great-grandkids; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
