Gwendolyn O’Liney Marshall “Ginny” was born to Vera Mae Maten and Matthew Leonard James on May 30, 1956. She accepted Christ at an early age. Gwendolyn was employed for many years as a Head Food Service Preparer for the Naval Air Force Base in Pensacola, Florida. She later returned to Marksville, Louisiana where she rededicated her life to Christ at First Congregational Baptist Church under the Dynamic Leadership of Pastor Michael Gonzales. Where she served as a Senior Choir Member, cook for the Kitchen Ministry, member of the Mission Ministry and member of the Food Pantry Ministry. On Monday, May 4th, 2020 Gwendolyn’s name was called as she received her wings and went home to be with the Lord. Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her mother Vera Mae “Peewee” Maten, both Grandparents Alfred and Melissa Maten; 1 brother Charles O’Liney and 1 brother in law Louis Ariza II. She leaves to cherish her memories 1 daughter Melissa O’Liney of Marksville, La; 1 son Paul (Kimmi) O’liney of Austin, TX. 1 Step son Paul Henderson Jr of Baton Rouge, LA; 8 Grand Children: Riveria O’liney of Pensacola, Florida; Aieasha Mitchell of Austin, TX; Shykeria (Justin) Bogan- Smith of Pearland, Tx; Qutaisia (Joe “Chulu”) Bogan of Marksville, La; Mercedes Randerson of Pensacola, FL; Quadarious Fountain and Akilah O’Liney both of Marksville, LA and Z’Keem Dumas of Pensacola, FL; 10 Great Grandchildren: Anaya, Justin, Ja’Kolby, Ja’Marya, Braelynn, Kae’Lee, Ky’ron, Cayden, A’Aliyah and Jamarion; 3 Brothers and 1 Sister that were born as her siblings and later became her children at an early age: Arnold O’liney of Mansura, La; Ivan O’Liney of Loma Linda, Ca; Christopher O’Liney and Vera Ann Ariza both of Marksville, La; 4 Very Special Aunts: Ella Jones; Shirley Holden; Pamela Castle all of Baton Rouge, La and Glenda Wilson of San Bernadino, CA; 1 Amazingly Special Uncle Thomas Bady of Enterprise, AL; 3 God Children: Alexis James of Mansura, La; Mavis Prier of Vidilia, La and Lorenzo Ariza of Marksville, LA; 1 God Mother: Julie Boston of Mansura, La; 2 Nieces: Alisha Jackson of Marksville, La; Prya O’liney of Loma Linda, CA; 6 Nephews Louis Ariza III, Lorenzo Ariza both of Marksville, LA; Talon O’liney of San Bernadino, CA; Matthew O’Liney of Tampa, FL; Jamal O’Liney of San Bernadino, Ca; Quincy O’liney from Baton Rouge, La; 3 Sisters in Love: Altheia Wilson, Gwendolyn Eubanks and Anita Grimes along with a host of other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Relatives, Love ones and Close friends………….
