Orlando Williams, 41

Obituary of Orlando Williams, 41

The life of Orlando LaRay Williams, lovingly known as Lando, began on Friday, March 23, 1979 in Pineville, Louisiana to Garland and Brenda Williams. A ray of sunshine since the day he was born, Orlando was a good baby who loved to play and eat. Always the little gentleman, Lando, was a well- mannered and polite little boy who was loved by everyone he came in contact with. Orlando was baptized at an early age at the First Union Baptist Church in Alexandria. He also was educated in the Rapides Parish School System where he played basketball until his departure from school. As a young man, Orlando continued to be the lively and bubbly person he was from birth. Never the one to meet a stranger, he left lasting impressions on everyone he met. So handsome, he was almost pretty, Lando was a lady’s man. Many of those relationships turning into long bonded connections that he still had until his passing. Orlando also loved to be with his family. He could be found with any of his cousins or by his favorite Aunt Lollipop’s house. He enjoyed hanging with the family and eating a good meal: Food was a great way to his heart. Compassionate and caring, Orlando found his niche as an orderly at the Regency House and Pecan Grove Assisted Living Facilities. There, he was loved by the staff and patients alike. He loved his job and enjoyed caring for the elderly. Orlando had found something that allowed him to shine like the star he was born to be. He was a jack of many trades: he was very skilled at cutting hair and in the final months of his life even began cutting lawns. Orlando’s children were the physical embodiment of his heart walking around. Not only were they all his identical images, they were his second chance at a better life. He wanted nothing more than to love, protect and give them everything he had and didn’t have. Lando loved to instill knowledge, the wisdom he gained from his time here on earth and the passion to see them be great and successful. Orlando famously declared that he was “internationally known and locally accepted.” Although he spent most of his life in Alexandria, he lived in California several times throughout his life and he left such amazing impressions on the lives of the people that are now spread throughout the world, that he is truly internationally known and locally accepted. On March 29, 2020, just six days past his 41st birthday, the sun set on his life on Earth and his sunrise began in Heaven. There, he was greeted by his daughter, Olivia Williams; Maternal Grandparents: James & Elizabeth Standfield, Edna Martin; Paternal Grandparents: Vandy & Louisa Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory: (4) children: Kourtnei Lowe of Alexandria, LA; Alasia Anderson of Houston, TX; Heaven Neveah and Orlando LaRay Williams, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA; Father: Garland Ray Williams of Sacramento, CA; Mother; Brenda West (James) of Alexandria, LA; (1) Sister: Chantal Williams of New Orleans, LA; (1) Stepsister Quintel LaShay Turner (Willie D) of Alexandria, LA; Favorite Aunt “Lollipop” and another Aunt, Marilyn Standfield of Alexandria; (5) Uncles: Ronald Williams (Osie) of Fairfield, CA; Gary Wayne Williams (Margie) of Monroe, LA; Alvin Martin of Alexandria, LA; Charles Martin (Karen) of Milwaukee, WI; and Lee Andrew Standfield of Houston, TX; (2) Nephews: Daylen & Brayden Turner of Alexandria, LA; (1) Niece: Samyiah “Nieces Pieces” Victorian of New Orleans, LA; Favorite Cousins: Omar “Moose” Washington; Jermaine Martin; Greg Price; “Toby”; Wintrick Blake; Peggy Allen; Trinice Allen; Jasmine Fairly; Vance Williams; Shandricka Price and Pamela Washington; along with a host of cousins, extended family and friends. The love and laughter, Lando shared with the world, will live on forever. Please keep the family of Orlando in prayer. ~Miller & Hill "The Funeral Directors"
