Lee Hall Sr, 73

Obituary of Lee Vernon Hall Sr, 73

The steps of a good man are ordered by the lord Psalm 37:23 Lee Vernon Hall Sr., was born on March 30, 1946 in Pineville, LA to Melvin and Martha Hall. He entered eternal transition on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Lee Hall accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. J.S. Lawson at the Mt. Pleasant B.C., Poland, LA. His favorite scripture was 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 ... Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, friend, and loved to talk about the goodness of God. Lee never met a stranger, and always had a good conversation with that award-winning smile. He was a master of road maps and traveling. He was a proud graduate of the Peabody High School Class of 1964. After graduation, he became employed by Louisiana Industries as a truck driver and Avoyelles Wholesale for over 20 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Ethel Mae Welch on October 30, 1965, and to that union, seven children were born. He later joined Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. W.A. White. Deacon hall was a faithful member of the van ministry, where he went above and beyond driving members to church, vacation bible school, out of town activities, sunday school, and numerous other trips. Deacon Hall was the Chairman of the Deacon Board, he was recognized as "Man of the Year," he worked with the old 8th District Baptist Association, The Christian Men Federation, and helped with the Evangelism Ministry faithfully until his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Martha Hall, four(4) sisters, Mary Frances and Arnitha Hall, Brenda Faye Gordon and Margie Jones, one (1) nephew and 2 grandchildren, and his loving wife Ethel Mae Hall. He leaves to cherish his memories three (3) sons, Lee V. Hall Jr. and Michael D. Hall Sr. (Patricia), of Alexandria, LA., Melvin Hall of Richmond, Virginia, four (4} daughters, Wanda D. Hayes (Ray}, Angela, Anita and Veronica Hall of Alexandria, LA, three(3) brothers, Larry and Donald Ray Hall (Nellie) of Alexandria, LA, and Phil Hall of New Orleans, LA, one (1) brother in law, Tommie Gordon of Baton Rouge, LA, 21 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a niece that they raised, Tiffany Hall, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
