Life Story Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverb 31:30 Sabra Lynn Sanders was born in Pineville, Louisiana on December 7, 1966, to the late Patsy Norwood Sanders and William Hughes. She peacefully transitioned with dignity and grace to her reward with the Lord on February 14, 2020. Sabra graduated from Pineville High School in 1984. She was an employee of Rapides Regional Medical Center for nearly thirty years working as a certified pharmacy technician at Red River Pharmacy and the Rapides Regional Medical Center pharmacy. All of her patients loved her and eagerly anticipated her jovial welcome at the pharmacy window. Her favorite past time included spending time with friends and family- especially her grandchildren, traveling, and naturally, shopping. Sabra was full of zeal and celebrated life to the fullest on any and every occasion. Diva, as she was affectionately known loved leopard and every other animal print for which she wore with sass and confidence. She was well versed on the latest fashion trends, jewelry, handbags, perfume and lipstick color. Sabra had an infectious personality that captured the hearts of many around here. She could talk and hold a captivating conversation for hours, to know her was to love her. Sabra embodied the expression “when God shows you Mercy, you pay it forward”. Throughout her five-year remission period, Sabra shared her experiences and journey with others battling various types of cancer. She motivated them and gave them the courage, faith and hope to keep pushing forward. Sabra was previously a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Joe S. Green. She later became a member of Zion Hill Church Family in Pineville, LA under the leadership of Pastor Joshua Joy Dara until her passing. Preceding her in death were her parents. Sabra leaves to cherish her memories her husband Michael Simon; one daughter Daphanie Sanders; two sons Keith and Harlan Sanders; one stepson Cameron Simon; two sisters Kimberly Hughes- Baker and Angela Sanders; four brothers Frederick Ceasar, Orlando Norwood, Harlan Sanders, and Kerry Sanders; eight grandchildren, Ava Boyd, Keilynn Sanders, Kendyn Sanders, and Shakya Sanders; four grandsons, Ashton Sanders, Davion Sanders, Keith Sanders, Jr., and Ajyhri Sanders; and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. .
