Obituary of Warren C. Roberts, 64
Celebrating the Legacy of Life
Warren Charles Roberts Sr. was the fourth child of seven children born to the late Isiah Roberts Sr., and the late Geneva Harrison. He entered their lives on August 9, 1955, and departed December 16, 2019.
He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age being baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Jacobs. In later years, he became an active and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Brooks. He was educated in the Rapides Parish school system and was a graduate of Peabody Magnet High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country.
After his tour in the Army he began a lifelong, successful career. He was employed by the United States Postal Service where he received many honors and service awards. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service accomplishing 37 years of service. He was well known and loved at the post office for his dedication to serve the public, support, kindness, patience and most of all his infectious smile.
He loved his community and was highly respected for his kindness, support, dedication, and giving heart. In the community he was also in popular demand; known for serving the community with the most savory, appetizing hot tamales that were simply delightful. He carried his father’s traditional recipe from the family business of greater than 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Isiah Roberts Sr., and Geneva Harrison; one brother, Isiah Roberts Jr.; one sister, Shirley Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia; daughter, Lauren Roberts of Alexandria, LA; son Warren Roberts (Cassie) of Desoto, TX; two grandsons, Isaiah Roberts Roberts and Kristian Roberts both of Desoto TX; one granddaughter, Saria of Desoto Texas; one brother, Glen Roberts (Phyllis) of Alexandria, LA; sister, Vivian Barnes (Sheldon) of Alexandria, LA, Wanda Washington (Douglas) of Alexandria, LA and Veronica Nash (Herman) of Alexandria, LA; two brothers-in-law, Tony Harris of Alexandria, LA and Charles Harris (Yvonne) of Deatsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
