Obituary of Ronald James Rayfield, 72

Ronald James Rayfield began his earthly journey on June 3, 1947. He was

born in Pineville, Louisiana, to the union of the late Gabe Rayfield and Daisy

Leona Jones Rayfield. He was the third of six children born to this union.

Ronald accepted Christ and was baptized early in life at Saint James

Memorial Catholic Church. Ronald was reared by his loving aunt, Amelia

Davis, and grandmother, Rosa “Toot” Rachal. He received his formal

education through Saint James Catholic School and graduated from

Washington High School in Los Angeles, California in 1965.

After high school, he was an artist at Walt Disney in California. Ronald was

drafted in the military during the Vietnam Era. He was a sharp shooter, and

received the National Defense Service medal and several other awards. He

was honorably discharged from the United States Army.

Ronald loved to read and collect National Geographic magazines. He

continued to draw and sketch images on sketch pads. He collected and

watched all types of movies. He enjoyed spending time outside with his

beloved best friend, Bubba.

On December 10,2019, Ronald made a peaceful transition at his home in

Alexandria, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Daisy

Leona Jones Rayfield, father, Gabe Rayfield, grandmother, Rosa “Toot”

Rachal. Siblings, Dottie Lee Rayfield, Gabe Martin Rayfield, and Harold Neville

Rayfield, Sr.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Carol Rayfield of Los

Angeles, California, and Osa R. Green (Jules) of Alexandria, Louisiana, and,

brother, Donald Davis of Alexandria, Louisiana and a host of nieces, nephew,

cousins, other relatives and friends.
