The Legacy of

Mrs. Beatrice Jean Joseph

 

TIME TO BE BORN

On June 27, 1928, God blessed the late Andrew Harris and Mozette Jason with a beautiful baby girl in Ville Platte, Louisiana. They named her Beatrice Jean Joseph. She was one of five children. Her siblings were brother, Andrew Harris, Jr. and sisters Inez Veal, Beatrice Harris, and Avis Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Foster Joseph, Sr.; sisters, Beatrice Harris and Inez Veal; brother, Andrew Harris, Jr. and her great-grandson, Kareem Norris, Jr.

TIME TO LIVE

Beatrice accepted Christ and joined Macedonia Baptist church under the late Pastor A.D. Hollands. She later became a member of Greater St. Lawrence Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Roy L. Lott, where she received numerous rewards of recognition for her service in the Mission.

Sister Beatrice was employed at Blackman’s Laundry and Annie Mae Mathews Nursing Home. “Ms. Bea”, as she was affectionately called, was known for her melt-in-your mouth homemade biscuits, super moist cakes and scrumptious pies. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and friends.

TIME TO DIE

On November 29, 2019, Beatrice received a call from God. She accepted the call to COME HOME.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children; three sons, Foster Joseph, Jr., William “Fats” Joseph(Joanne) of Alexandria, La; Eddie Akins of Houston, Texas: five daughters, Dorothy White(Roosevelt) of Rockwall, Texas; Patricia Landheart & Brenda Miller, both of Houston, Texas; Mary Norris and Alice Green(Alvin) both of Alexandria, La. One sister; Avis Collins, of Alexandria, La. She raised her grandsons, Cleveland Landheart, Jr. & William Slaughter. She also raised her nephew, Otis Johnson. She leaves 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren,8 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves her special caregivers, Anita, Moses & Tina with Guardian Angels Hospice.
