Obituary of Mrs. Gloria Barnes

Gloria Nell Barnes was born on September 25, 1955, to the late Lonzo and Pearlie Jackson Price. She departed this life peacefully on August 10, 2019.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Lonzo Price, Sr.; her mother, Pearlie Jackson Price; five brothers, Arthur Williams, Lonzo Price, Jr., Robert Price, Jimmy Frank Price, and Lewis Price; and two sisters, Martha Fatharee and Louise Syess.

Gloria received Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Mount Triumph Baptist Church. She was a companion to Edward Branch for over 25 years. Gloria was a caregiver and educator. She was affectionately known by family for her love of music and great food.

Gloria leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sons, Marchial Antone Barnes (Myrna) of Columbus, Georgia, and JaQuan Lee Hurd; one daughter, Simone Tenae Hall (Dexter) of Alexandria, Louisiana; two stepchildren, Ebony Simon and Regis Simon of Marksville, Louisiana; one sister, Pearline Jones (Dalton) of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Lee Price of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Leman Price of Boyce, Louisiana; three granddaughters, Shakira Tenae Barnes, Lyvia Mon’et Barnes and Ne’Vaeh Amari Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Special thanks to her best friend of over 30 years, Mrs. Judy Jones.
