Mrs. Pearl McCoy

Obituary of Mrs. Pearl McCoy

Sister Pearl Rosa Raphiel McCoy was born into the lineage and heritage of the late Rev. Ivory Raphiel, Sr., and Daisey Lee Raphiel on December 6, 1942, in Natchitoches, LA. After a lengthy illness, Pearl received her righteous crown in glory on August 7, 2019.

Pearl was raised by the late Deacon Earl and Deaconess Ethel Washington in Lena, LA.

Pearl’s spiritual foundation began by accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. William Batts at Damascus Baptist Church, Lena, LA, and later joined Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. As a faithful member of Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, Pearl served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee and Women’s Ministry, and dearly loved the Praise Dance Ministry until her health began to decline.

Pearl retired from Pinecrest Supports and Services Center as a Supervisor after 33 years of dedicated service.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 60 years, Henry Allen McCoy; one son, Honorable Alderman/Deacon Kelvin V. McCoy (Dorothy); two daughters, Jacqueline McCoy and Jeburnon McCoy-Williams (Michael Paul), all of Boyce, LA; daughter-in-law, Martha McCoy of Boyce, LA; step-mother, Mary L.
