Obituary of Mr. Bobby Smith, Sr.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. — II Timothy 4:6-8

Bobby Smith, Sr. was born the fifth child of six children on March 6, 1951, to Dan Tatmon and Victoria Smith in Alexandria, Louisiana. He departed this life on June 28, 2019, at home with his family and loved ones by his bedside.

Bobby accepted Christ at an early age. Later, he joined First St. Mark Baptist Church, where he served faithfully under the leadership of the Rev. Grady Blackwell. Bobby became an ordained deacon which he took very seriously and remained so until his death.

Bobby attended and graduated from Peabody High with the Class of 1968. Later, he attended Alexandria Trade School in Carpentry and Welding. He worked for several companies until he was later employed by Tudor Construction Company.

Bobby loved his family and never met a stranger. He loved to fish, watch football and was the Raiders #1 Fan! He loved family cookouts and traveling. His love for life and people will never be forgotten.
