Obituary of Mrs. Lucille Batts

Lucille McDaniel Batts was born to the late Aaron McDaniel and Stella Romer McDaniel on September 1, 1944 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, she heeded God’s call and transitioned into eternal rest.

At an early age, she was baptized at the St. Martha Baptist Church of Red River. She later united with Mt. Herman Baptist Church and then the Damascus Baptist Church.  She also attended Spring Hill Baptist Church in Natchitoches Parish. She received her education from the Natchitoches Parish Schools.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters: Rosa Mae Walker, Leona Balthazar, Annie Mae McDaniel and Earlee McDaniel and two brothers Mathew McDaniel and L.B. McDaniel.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories her loving husband, Rev. William Batts, Jr.; daughters Sandra McDaniel Hutson (Brian) of New Iberia, LA;  Brenda Branch of Boyce, LA; sons David Branch of Taylor Hill, LA; and Alvin Branch of Alexandria, LA; granddaughter A’Sha’la Price of Boyce, LA;  grandson Deltrick Branch ( Tara) of Lafayette, LA;  great-grandson Cameron Spikes of Lafayette, LA;  stepdaughter Emma Flanagan, Alexandria, LA; stepson Richard Green (Marian) Baton Rouge, LA; step-grandson Jarvis Flanagan of Alexandria, LA,; step-great-granddaughter Ananda Flanagan of Colfax, LA;  and step-great-great granddaughter Dakota Hall of Colfax, LA;  Godchildren Frankie Ray McDaniel and Jeremy Odom and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
