Obituary of Mr. Willie Daniels

Willie James Daniels was born February 2, 1954, in Monroe, Louisiana. He was born to the union of Doretha Ross and Randolph Daniels-Sawyer. He departed this life on June 15, 2019.

Willie attended Swayze Elementary and was a graduate of Richwood High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served several years. As a child, Willie attended Saint Matthews Church of Christ Holiness, where he was an usher. As an adult, he became a member of Mt. Triumph Baptist Church.

On October 3, 1975, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Evonne Baldwin of Alexandria, Louisiana. To this union, three children were born: Brian Daniels, Brigid Daniels-Hampton, and Brinston Daniels.

Willie is preceded in death by his grandmother, Isabella Jones; his parents, Doretha Ross, Randolph Daniels-Sawyer, and Daniel Ross, Sr.; his brothers, Danny Ross, Larry Daniels, Donald Ross, and Jimmy Ray Ross; and his sister, Irma Faye Ross.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 43 years, Evonne Daniels; children, Brian Daniels, Brigid Daniels-Hampton (Kyle), and Brinston Daniels; brothers, Daniel Ross, Jr. (Bernistein), Billy Daniels, and Wendell Sawyer; sisters, Rosie Carter, Emma Menyweather, Rosie Landers (Tommy), Mary Credit, and Tonya Sawyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
