Obituary of Mr. Billy Earl Johnson

Billy Earl Johnson was born to the union of John and Mary Lou Johnson on November 14,1948 at Huey P. Long Hospital in Pinevillle, Louisiana. He was the sixth of nine children. He 
attended and graduated from Carter C. Raymond High School. Billy would go on to join the US Army in November 1969 with training in Fort Polk, LA. Billy Earl was a troop member of the 101st Airborne Division, stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. He would soon be sent to Vietnam shortly after his military training.  Wounded in March 1970, he returned back to Louisiana and and was later medically discharged from the United States Army. 

 

 

He received several military honors for his heroics. One of his medals was the military highest honor, the Purple Heart. 
Billy would got on to work various jobs before retiring from Westside Rehab Center. 
He would also make Second Edgefield Baptist Church his church home where he rededicated his life to Christ. 
Billy is preceded in death by both his parents, his siblings John Jr., W.J., Leroy, Delores, Evelyn and Johnnie Mae. 

 

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Tamecia Yvonne Richard and a grandson Za'Darion Lamount Richard. both of Bastrop, LA. His sister Dorothy Johnson and a brother Charles Ray Johnson both of Alexandria. LA There are countless nieces, nephews, special friends and family, all of who will miss him dearly and cherish him.
