Obituary of Mr. James Alex Tisino

James Alex Tisino, was the first child born to the union of the late Ernest Tisino and Dorothy Carey-Tisino on September 29, 1950, in LeCompte, Louisiana. He departed this life on Friday, May 17, 2019, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend John Hall at the Beulah Baptist Church. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Brenda White-Tisino, who preceded him in death. To this union, five children were born.

James grew up in LeCompte, Louisiana, and graduated from Carter C. Raymond High School in Rapides Parish. After completing high school in 1968, he served four years in the United States Air Force as a military police officer. After returning home from his military duties, he held various jobs in Central Louisiana. There was one job which he found very fulfilling – he worked with special needs children at the Louisiana Special Education Center in Alexandria. He had a big heart and always wanted to reach out to help others. He worked there as a Residential Training Specialist for ten years. James was an affectionate person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda White-Tisino; father, Ernest Tisino; and sister, Linda Tisino-Jett.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, Quincy (Christine) Tisino of Tioga, Louisiana, Christopher Tisino of Monroe, Louisiana, James Antonio (Quiana) Tisino of Cleveland, Ohio, and Travis Richard of Alexandria, Louisiana; four daughters, Lisa Tisino, Felicia St. Romain and Latrice Morris all of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Deidra Sumbler of Glenmora, Louisiana; mother, Dorothy Tisino; four sisters, Earnestine (Henry) Stewart and Wanda (Jessie) Kensie both of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Davis and Lois Clark both of Alexandria, Louisiana; one aunt, Lizzie Johnson, and one uncle, Roy Farrow, both of LeCompte, Louisiana; eighteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; special individuals: Linda Kozak, a very special friend, of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Lester Tisino, Jr., first cousin. James and Lester experienced a brotherly bond, and Lester was there for him until the end.
