Obituary of Mr. Wilbur Allen Jr.

Wilbur Allen, Jr.,was born on July 5, 1941, in Lyles, Louisiana, to the late Malissa Allen and Wilbur Allen, Sr. He transitioned from this life to life everlasting on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Wilbur accepted Christ at an early age at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Chembers, Louisiana. He was a chauffeur at Cabrini Hospital for many years, a veterinarian with Dr. Lester Page, and also worked at Pinecrest for 33 years until he retired.

Wilbur leaves to cherish, a devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Betty Allen; two daughters, Shelia Allen Powell (Leon) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Doris Allen of Alexandria, Louisiana; one sister, Ruby Dorsey (Eddie) of Alexandria; one sister-in-law, Erma Peace (Melvin) of Alexandria; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Cleveland (Donnie), David Cleveland and Freddie Thomas, all of Alexandria; one adopted sister, Emma Green of Alexandria; two granddaughters, Laurel Powell and Chelsey Allen; five adopted daughters, Jennifer Green, Farnetta Hobley, Chelle Neal, Angela Neal, and Carla Neal; one adopted son, Ronald Neal; six Godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
