Obituary of Mrs. Frankie Mae Brown

REFLECTION OF LIFE

 

Frankie Burns Brown was born March 19, 1928 to the late Frank Sanders and Louella Prudhomme Sanders in Alco, Louisiana. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.

The family relocated to Alexandria, Louisiana, where Frankie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana under the leadership of Reverend G.C. Jacobs. She remained a member of Mt. Zion until her passing.

Frankie (Madear & Maw, as she was affectionately called) attended school in the Vernon Parish School System. She retired from St. Mary’s Training School after over 27 years of service. To continue her love for special needs children, she served as a Foster Grandparent at Pinecrest Support Services for over 10 years. If she knew you, she loved you!

Mrs. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Betty Simon; brother, David Sanders; sisters, Lillie Austin & Eva Franklin; grandsons, Demetrius Burns and Robert Foreman, Jr.; husbands Press Burns, Jr. & Tom Brown, Jr.

Mrs. Frankie leaves to cherish her memories, Four sons, Charles Burns (Janice) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Frank Burns of Crown Point, Indiana; Larry Burns (Sheree) and Leslie Burns, of Alexandria, Louisiana. Five daughters, Joanne Joseph (William); Irma Foreman(Robert, Sr.); Cynthia Hafford(William); Linda Sanders, all of Alexandria, Louisiana; Kathy Allen, Midlothian, Virginia; twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
